A community group is a group of Christians who gather together to learn about God, who encourage and support one another, and who demonstrate the gospel tangibly and declare the gospel creatively to a pocket of people.
- It is intentionally focused not just internally, but externally.
- “Community” is not the destination but the method to engage in missionary activity. It is a tool to see God’s glory being displayed to Ocala and to the world.
- Community isn’t the only purpose of the group, but community has the purpose of mission
A community group is not a Bible study, but a community group studies the Bible. Bible studies are defined by gathering for the event of learning. People in a community group are individually engaging God’s Word on a daily basis and seeking to obey. The purpose of studying the Bible is not just to learn about God, but to equip us for the work of ministry in the church and outside the church.
