Small Groups create a space for people to intentionally share their lives with others, grow spiritually together, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. A Small Group Leader determines how often their group meets and what the focus of the group is. Small Groups gather in homes, coffee shops, and other places where people love to connect—including online.
First, give yourself a high five for taking the step to join a Small Group! Here are several easy ways to get connected:
Every Small Group is unique. They are designed around common interests, possibly a geographic area with the goal of building relationships and growing spiritually. For example, Life-stage (ex. newlyweds, new parents, empty-nest), some meet and discuss the weekend’s message or a subject/curriculum (ex. Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, The Bevere’s), a variety of curriculum is also available to borrow.
Absolutely! It’s understandable to want to find people you feel comfortable opening up to and developing friendships with. That being said, if you’ve joined a Small Group and aren’t sure if it’s the right fit for you, don’t give up. Keep in mind that there’s no such thing as a perfect Small Group because there are no perfect people. Remember to have grace and patience during the process. If it’s clear that this group isn’t the best fit for you, though, give another group a try.
This might be a sign that God is calling you to start a group! If God’s placed a certain passion or calling within you, He might want you to take a step of faith and launch a Small Group around it. You won’t have to do this alone, though. Your Small Group team is here to support you every step of the way.
We’re here to help! When you attend Cross Pointe, connect with our Small Groups team or talk with a volunteer in the lobby on Sunday.
